Standard Issue Pack
Developing this pack started from looking at vintage military gear and blending that utilitarian aesthetic with modern travel needs.
Every bag needs to start from a good pattern. I like to begin that process in paper. I will sketch and mockup a very rough pattern first, then use paper and tape to build out my form and define compartments. Then begin diving into where everything needs to land to function and look right.
For communication to a factory a solid tech pack is a must. This is an example of an in depth tech pack for this bag and all its components, from hardware, to straps, to labels. Generally I like to send a factory a rough paper pattern along with a digital ref they can start from.
